De serie Sweet Magnolias doet haar naam eer aan: de serie is werkelijk suikerzoet.
Eerlijk gezegd soms een beetje té.
Maar in een wereld waarin allerlei vreselijke dingen gebeuren, heeft het iets troostends om een tijdje te kijken naar het leven in het fictieve stadje Serenity.
Net als in de film
Hoe dan ook, het personage Maddy draagt altijd prachtige jurken en rokken. En in aflevering 7 van seizoen 5 droeg ze iets waarvan ik dacht: Dat kan ik ook! Hierboven zie je de foto waarin ik de kleding draag die werd geïnspireerd door Maddy uit de serie Sweet Magnolias!
P.S. En ja, ik weet dat mijn rok nodig gestreken moet worden…

I can’t think of a time that a movie or show inspired my clothing. If it has happened, it must have been way back. Now if I could pull off some Regency clothes, we could talk about it, but alas …

Het is al een tijdje geleden dat ik die film gezien heb, Practical Magic. Die kleding van Nicole Kidman en Sandra Bullock vond ik echt mooi.
Vrouwelijk en stijlvol.
Ik merk dat ik de afgelopen tijd steeds meer kleding koop in die stijl.
Is daar nu niet net een nieuwe film van uit?

It was very late when I realized that I’d been too much of a “fighter” all my life—working like crazy, cutting firewood, digging in the garden… and that skirts and dresses actually bring me back to my feminine side. We all need a little more of that in this crazy world we live in. Now I go mushroom picking barefoot in a long skirt, and somehow I find myself doing it more and more every year. No movies, no cults, but hmm… Teal Swan’s hair did give me some pretty decent inspiration. :)
